My friend Maurice Austin is one of the regulars at the Coburg Trash and Treasure market, which is held every Sunday morning, like a religious observance. I’ve been most Sunday mornings for twenty-odd years now. Maurice collects old photographs, recordings, all sorts of things. Here I’ve used a public announcement recording that came from a collection given to Maurice by an ex-radio station employee, which Maurice kindly shared with me.

僕の友達のモリース・オースティンは、毎週日曜にまるで宗教的行事かなんかみたいにやってるコバーグトラッシュ＆トレジャーマーケットの常連の一人だ。僕自身、もうかれこれ20有余年、殆ど毎週、日曜の朝に通ってる。モリースは古い写真、レコーディング、その他なんやかんやら集めているんだけど、この曲では、そのモリースが親切にも僕に貸してくれた、彼のコレクションからの公共放送のレコーディングを使用している。その彼のコレクションは元ラジオ局社員がモリースにあげたものだ。
